Discover the rugged beauty of Crete on the Hiking Crete: Gorges & Coastal Walks adventure — a 7-day active tour through dramatic gorges, coastal paths, and traditional villages. Based around Chania, this small-group experience focuses on hiking iconic natural landscapes like the lush Agia Irini Gorge and the breathtaking Samariá Gorge (Europe’s longest), as well as stunning coastal hikes along the southern shore. Enjoy stunning seaside scenery and local Greek culture, capped with a Cretan family-style dinner and leisurely days in hidden villages accessible only on foot or by boat.

Tour Program

Day 1 – Chania

Arrive in Chania, meet your CEO (Chief Experience Officer) and group over a welcome meeting.
Optional group dinner.

Day 2 – Chania → Omalós

Travel inland to the White Mountains (Lefka Ori).
Hike through the lush Agia Irini Gorge with diverse flora.
Transfer to Omalós plateau for the evening.

Day 3 – Omalós → Agia Roumeli

Full-day trek through the spectacular Samariá Gorge, the longest in Europe.
End at the south coast village of Agia Roumeli with its clear waters and pebble beach.

Day 4 – Agia Roumeli → Loutro

Coastal walk from Agia Roumeli toward the tiny seaside village of Loutro.
Optional lunch at a seaside taverna in Marmara village.

Day 5 – Loutro Free Day

Free to explore Loutro — a peaceful village only reachable by foot or boat.
Optional hike back toward Marmara or explore Aradena Gorge.
Evening Cretan family-style dinner with local wine and Greek dancing.

Day 6 – Loutro → Chania

Hike a coastal path toward Sfakia, where mountains meet the sea.
Swim stop at Glyka Nera (Sweetwater Beach).
Transfer back to Chania for your final night.

Day 7 – Chania (Departure)

Tour concludes after breakfast; depart Chania at any time.
