Step into the myth and magic of Greece on a 16-day National Geographic Journeys adventure, blending the classical wonders of mainland Greece with the sun-drenched allure of the Aegean islands. Beginning in Athens and ending in Santorini, this expansive tour combines archaeology, culture, landscapes, food, and seaside experiences. You’ll explore famed ancient sites like the Acropolis, Delphi, Olympia, and Mycenae; marvel at the monasteries of Meteora; discover historic coastal towns such as Nafplio; sail to iconic Cycladic islands including Mykonos and Naxos; and enjoy time on Santorini’s breathtaking caldera rim. Throughout the journey, expert-led insights, local moments, and meaningful experiences bring Greece’s past and present vividly to life.

Tour Program

Day 1 – Athens
Arrive in Greece’s capital and settle in; prepare for the adventure ahead.

Day 2 – Athens
Guided exploration of the Acropolis, Parthenon, and ancient Agora with an archaeologist, followed by a visit to a local G for Good café.

Day 3 – Athens → Kalampáka (Meteora)
Depart Athens to Kalampáka; stop at Thermopylae and enjoy a unique truffle-hunting experience.

Day 4 – Kalampáka → Delphi
Tour the breathtaking cliff-top monasteries of Meteora then continue to Delphi, home of the Oracle of Apollo.

Day 5 – Delphi → Olympia
Guided visit of Delphi and its museum, followed by a scenic drive along the Gulf of Corinth to Olympia.

Day 6 – Olympia → Nafplio
Explore Olympia’s archaeological site, then travel to Nafplio for a walking tour of this seaside town.

Day 7 – Nafplio
Free time followed by an excursion to Mycenae, with a visit to a regional winery for wine tasting and mezze.

Day 8 – Nafplio → Athens
Stop at Epidaurus ancient theatre and sanctuary before returning to Athens; optional farewell dinner.

Day 9 – Athens (Free Day)
Explore Athens independently with optional activities or relax.

Day 10 – Athens → Mykonos
Ferry to Mykonos; orientation walk to the famous windmills, Little Venice, and seaside spots.

Day 11 – Mykonos
Excursion to Delos with a local archaeologist; explore the ancient site and museum.

Day 12 – Mykonos → Naxos
Ferry to Naxos; enjoy a local culinary session with a traditional Naxian dish and follow with a guided walking tour.

Days 13–15 – Island Discoveries & Santorini Arrival
Continue island experiences, visiting classic Cycladic destinations and cultural sites. End the tour in Santorini with scenic views and free time to explore independently.

Day 16 – Santorini (Departure)
Tour concludes after breakfast; depart at your leisure.
